Knowledge, Nation and Compassion: Is the Thai government’s philosophy better than the UK’s?
Religion has had major effects on how countries across history have created laws, directed their populations and made timeline-changing decisions. Unlike the UK, Thailand and many countries in the south-east have been shaped by Buddhism, a philosophy and religion valuing wisdom and compassion over all else. I found myself asking how much of an effect this has had on modern Thai law and it’s commparison to the country I live in (The UK). In this blog, I will discuss my initial findings on this topic, using a comparison of the 5 British Values and the 12 Core Thai Values.
